Molassacre: Escape the Flood

The first card game based on the 1919 Boston Molasses Flood

H.P. Palmer, an accountant at the electric freight plant, said that he heard the low rumble caused by the explosion just about 12:30PM. He looked out of the window, felt the building which he was in rocking, and at a glance saw that something dreadful had happened…

In the years since the disaster, the Boston Molasses Flood has entered into the American folklore for its unique, yet horrifying name. As someone who loves history and tabletop games, I wanted to mix my two interests and decided to make Molassacre: Escape the Flood during winter break in 2024. I found an incredible artist in Francesca Carità and a phenomenal graphic designer in my cousin, Kyle Wenger, to turn my paltry prototype into a real game. In June 2024, we launched the crowdfunding for the game on Kickstarter and now (as of September 2025) are awaiting our physical copies!
